I design activities that enable children to unlock their natural curiosity and desire to learn, allowing them to discover their innate talents, engage in critical thinking and creative problem solving. The beauty of the curriculum is that it instills a lifelong love of learning.
CURRICULA, CONTENT & CONCEPTS
A good curriculum is a living organism. It has a brain, a skeleton, a circulatory system, it is emotional, curious and inquisitive. My curricula has a strong thematic structure andis tailored to help educators and students think, explore, feel, understand and be playful. A good curriculum allows students see themselves as a part of a larger world and opens their minds to fresh perspectives.
I’ve had experience working within diverse educational formats and directions: STEM, IB programs, curricula for the gifted and advanced, Spanish native and heritage speakers, project-based, science and arts, foreign language acquisition as well as private bespoke classes.
OUT OF THE CLASSROOM
I apply my arts background with years of teaching language acquisition to develop original concepts for learning tools for books, textbooks, digital learning tools or video, children’s educational or decorative products and special workshops and special events.
CONCEPT & VIDEO CREATION for the ‘Summer Camp’ series by Marco Polo Learning, using found objects in nature to create drawings of insects. Part of a STEM+ curriculum.
ONLINE CLASS UNIT for Basic Expressions in Spanish created for my students when we had to stop in-person learning the past year. More videos can be found here.
ACTIVITIES OVER THE YEARS
I bring together art and language acquisition in every learning environment and all my classroom activities and worksheets are bespoke and drawn by hand. From developing a shadow puppet theatre to using recycled materials, my creative toolbox is endless!
